Wachtberg is a municipality in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Rhein-Sieg , which borders on the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and on the city of Bonn. The municipality is 49.7 km² in size, comprises 13 municipal districts and has a population of 20,500.
Because of its proximity to Bonn, Wachtberg is home to many people who work at the federal authorities and companies located in the city. It is also home to numerous politicians from the time when Bonn was the seat of government. Wachtberg also used to be the site of many embassies. Today, it is still home to the Fraunhofer-Institut and its research facilities.
The “ Gestüt Wachtberg ” boasts a secluded location, nestled among the hills of Wachtberg .
Its access road is lined with old trees and its grounds are fully enclosed, either through hedging or through metal fencing with electric gates.
On its outer perimeter is a 2 km gallop course.
The expansive, 22-hectare grounds are also home to numerous buildings:
A luxurious main house with lovely, unobstructed views of the grounds and boasting an indoor pool has 630 m² living space and spacious
terraces . It has three floors, high ceilings and a beautiful gallery, and is in an excellent state of repair. There is a guest house in the garden.
A modern 40 x 22 m riding arena that will meet even the most discerning demands.
Modern stables with 2 adjoining staff flats.
An arena with a high and low tide riding arena system.
A multi-purpose former indoor riding arena that can be used as an event or conference centre. This building offers enough space to store feed and to house treadmills and other machines.
A spacious guest house with 180 m² of floor space.
An eventing ground.
There is planning permission for the construction of 30 additional stables.
The entire grounds are very well-structured and able to meet the requirements of top-level equestrianism.
