strada provinciale 60, Trequanda, SI

From the Album

A very prestigious property in the Tuscanycountryside: comprising an ancient village, a farm and a winery. All set within a property of ca 300 hectares. The estate has 3 groups of buildings. The first, main group is the village surrounding the manor house which overlooks the farmhouse, the second group of buildings, we find on the opposite hill. Another smaller farm which served as a furnace for cooking clay and making brick we find further down. The manor house (1.700 sqm) with its intact interiors of antique decorations and floors. Crossing the threshold of this aristocratic residence is like taking a dip into the past. The frescoed vaults of the living rooms on the ground floor, the large dining room with the large fireplace, the kitchen and the anti-kitchen also with a large fireplace, all speak of Italian history and style. On the first floor we find the gigantic billiard room with wood paneling and several bedrooms, all frescoed and with parquet floors. There are 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, in the main residence of which two are located in the middle of the ramps. The top floor is an old aviary that appreciates a 360 degrees view over the property. The numerous outer buildings (of ca 3,500 square meters) surrounding the manor house are partially restored: here you find another building used as a private house with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, the cellars for the storage and the aging of grapes and of the wine produced within the 17 hectares has been cultivated with ' Orcia doc' cultivation, the offices of sales with its own bathroom, the orangeries, a farmhouse with 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms are all fully functional for 'agritourism' activity, a large dining hall with ca 200 seats and an industrial kitchen, in which it is possible to organize lunches, breakfasts, events for individuals and/or companies. The village is completed by a large park a la Italiana, a beautiful pool overlooking the hills, the chapel still used for worship and a secret garden. The parts which still need to be restored include the farmer's house and various huts and warehouses as well as the old olive-oil mill. The historic company winery, renovated about ten years ago, has modern and functional machinery for wine production and for the subsequent storage of the same. The production is ca. 120,000 bottles per year (100,000 Orcia DOC in addition to 20,000 IGT Tuscany).
